If you're at university for an artistic subject, don't eve do an essay on Wind in the Willows that you plan in photoshop. Mr Toad tends to happen.

Random face doodle
Just an in-between-project half finished doodle (or maybe completely finished? I'm yet to decide), in pen and ink

Long time no post - kill all squirrels, please.
Squirrels for my paper folding brief from uni. By god I got so sick of drawing the adorable little buggers.
Pencil sketches, loose ink outlines and superfast photoshop colouring.

Freak Show: Goat Girl semi-final
Basically, I don't like my final image of Goat Girl that much, and also it's up in the studio so I can't take a photo of it. This is the acrylic try-out.
The reason it's not too well finished is that I'm not that great at detail in the A4 format of this sketchbook, so the eyes (being the main point of the picture) are less visible than they should be.

Ringling Brothers Present: The Astounding Goat Girl - Alive!
Freakshow project - Goat Girl
I'm playing more with the actual poster layouts, components, typefaces (all hand drawn, as I refuse to do this one digitally, being something of a 'Victoriana' project. This was a speedy trial in acrylics to see how elements could be laid out, what works, what doesn't etc. etc.
Doodle
Two separate doodles from random shapes in acrylic and pencil in my sketchbook that I combined for absolutely no reason at all. Quite like it, though.

Hansel Adler - Das Erstaunliche Bayerische Telekine
More freakshow poster concept stuff. This is Hansel Adler, who (according to his currently metaphorical poster) survived a fire in his home in Bavaria due to his strange telekinetic powers. Of course this is the same level of bollocks as these things always are, he is just a badly burnt German kid who uses strings to 'float' objects.
Basically one of those things that occur when there's no inspiration so you just start painting in acrylics and see what shapes appear, and then bung in some pencil.
Do excuse me if the German is wrong, it's from a translation programme.
Freak show project - Miss Goat Eyes
Superfast study for a half-baked freak show idea, a girl with the eyes of a goat.
Acrylic in A4 Moleskine. Mmm Moleskine.

Some truly wonderful illustrations from an old children's book I found in a pavement book sale on Holy Island (otherwise known as Lindisfarne Island) off the coast of Northumberland. The book is called 'A Book for a Nook', and has no date in it, but was gifted to a girl called Anne in 1942 by someone named Graham.
The illustrations appear to be by a Ruth Cobb, (Or Ruth Kupferman, as Google would have it), who is unfortunately no longer alive, but seems to have had quite a successful career, though she is hard to find on the internet.
