Beginning to obsess

 about Manet

but how to reconcile this with my ink obsession? I feel I need to work in colour more frequently.

TypeFaces

Brilliant little one week project for uni - faces made using typography! The only proviso being that we couldn't 'draw' with the letters - like outlining shapes in characters that don't really describe the shape.
It's for ideas through design, so it's about starting to work to generate concepts rather than generating them then putting them on paper.

Great fun!

Porto sketches

From the Cambridge School of Art second year trip to Porto in Portugal. One of the most beautiful places I've ever been. Unfortunately most of the sketchbook work is much larger than my scanner, so I'll have to sit down and use one of the hefty scanners at Uni at some point. In order - a net-gathering fisherman from the docks, the tanned-legged green-socked fishmonger lady who dragged everyone she could find over to look at my drawings, and a couple of uber-fast sketches from lunchtime at a cafe.

Advice page for new year ones.

We were asked to design a page with a few small pieces of advice for the starting first years. They seem like they know a lot of it already, but hey, a project is a project.
Ink and photoshop.

As per usual my wording sounds crappy so I concentrated on a big ol' image.

Beekeeping Horror Comic summer project

From my summer project (I chose beekeeping as a new skill). I decided bees are kind of scary, so I created a short horror comic. Samples are below, and a full (hopefully working) version is linked at the bottom.
