The Lambton Wyrm - Pre-study.

A study in ink for my Modern Folklore self-set project (although I'm ignoring 'modern' to get a feel for the original story right now). I've ignored some major parts of the plot to get a hold of the basic theme, then I'll probably expand in some other quick pieces to include some interesting facets like the spearhead armour and the witch.

It's not supposed to look so Mignola-inspired, but he's stuck in my head right now, and when I'm not working constantly, I become something of an artwork aubergine, absorbing the flavours I come into contact with. I'm enjoying working in black and white at the moment, though.

Riiiight. I haven't posted in ages, but I have excuses, which are threefold.

Excuse 1: End of year uni work was INSANE. I was working solidly down to the last. At some point I'll post bits from it, though they really only work in the format I've presented them in for hand-in.

Excuse 2: I have been carefully generating ideas for a self-set project to occupy myself for a bit.

Excuse 3: I don't really have an excuse three, but things in threes are persuasive, right?

I'm not planning on giving too much away at an early stage, although that's not really of too much consequence, as I don't think there's many people reading this.

Bah!

If you're at university for an artistic subject, don't eve do an essay on Wind in the Willows that you plan in photoshop. Mr Toad tends to happen.

Random face doodle

Just an in-between-project half finished doodle (or maybe completely finished? I'm yet to decide), in pen and ink

Long time no post - kill all squirrels, please.

Squirrels for my paper folding brief from uni. By god I got so sick of drawing the adorable little buggers.
Pencil sketches, loose ink outlines and superfast photoshop colouring.

Freak Show: Goat Girl semi-final

Basically, I don't like my final image of Goat Girl that much, and also it's up in the studio so I can't take a photo of it. This is the acrylic try-out.

The reason it's not too well finished is that I'm not that great at detail in the A4 format of this sketchbook, so the eyes (being the main point of the picture) are less visible than they should be.
